BANFF Mountain Film Festival World Tour at The Porter Center

The Banff Mountain Film Festival is an international film competition and an annual presentation of short films and documentaries about mountain culture, sports, and the environment. It was launched in 1976 as The Banff Festival of Mountain Films by The Banff Centre and is held every fall in Banff, Alberta.

Immediately after the festival in November, a selection of the best films entered in the festival go on tour. Brevard College is one of three venues in North Carolina to host this amazing film festival. The festival is held on a Friday and Saturday in the middle of March every year. During the day there are demonstrations, equipment swaps, and opportunities to meet and greet local and national vendors specializing in outdoor sports. At night, the films are shown in the Porter Center located on the grounds of Brevard College.

The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour visits approximately 305 cities annually in 20 countries, reaching over 220,000 audience members. If you are in Brevard around the middle of March, this is a must see. But get your tickets early as the festival sells out every year.
